Introduction and Refresher to Ribbon Work Techniques with Meagan Smith of Strawberry Needlepoint

In this workshop, we will discuss the foundational aspects of ribbon, starting with the characteristics and quality of ribbon used in needlepoint. Then, we will review the materials and tools needed to set yourself up for ribbon success followed by the focus of the workshop, learning ribbon work techniques. After that, we will discuss the common problems that arise in ribbon work and, most importantly, how to solve them! We conclude with some helpful tips to develop and consistently cultivate the most effective habits when using ribbon work as an embellishment technique on your canvas.

Megan Smith has extensive teaching experience both as a professor and national needlepoint teacher. Her focus is on needlepoint techniques, helping needlepointers gain skills and confidence to stitch their treasured pieces. Megan's style is supportive and patient because she understands that learning is a process. She enjoys sharing her love of needlepoint with others and looks forward to seeing you in a class soon!
